Wayamba Wolves: Team Squad and Players

After the Indian Premier League, the cricket fans are now eagerly waiting for the Sri Lankan Premier League to start. The event is scheduled to start from 10th August to 31st August this year. The tournament will be held at Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. In total, there are 24 matches in this SLPL 2012 season where 7 teams will be representing 7 provinces of Sri Lanka. Wayamba Wolves is one among those 7 teams. Wayamba Wolves is based in Kurunegala and it will be lead by Mahela Jayawardene. The Wayamba Wolves will be representing the North Western Province in this tournament.

The team is purchased by the Wadhawan Holdings Private Limited in 2012 for $5.02 million. Wadhawan Holdings will be the owner of the team for seven years and after that a new agreement will be negotiated. This team is considered as the first class cricket team. The team will compete in two provincial tournaments: first class cricket which is also known as Inter-Provincial Tournament and the Twenty20 which is also known as the Inter-Provincial Twenty20. The Wayamba team will include many experienced and recognized players who had already played for Wayamba province cricket team.
